Duquesne Heights if certainly most well known for its unparalleled view of the City.  Standing along Grandview Avenue, one can see all of the downtown area, both ballparks, and miles of rivers and hills.  Previously known as Coal Hill, for the mines once located there, four inclines were constructed between 1867 to 1877, to allow German immigrants living in this section of the city, transportation to work in the mines.  Now, many tourists take a ride on one of the two remaining inclines to enjoy the view of the city.  Duquesne Heights is now home to a great diversity of residents, from families, to single-household professionals.
